Week 12 Use of batterns, shutters and photo voltaic facades

In order to provide light into horizontally deep spaces there was a need for open sides. This also demonstrated the advantage of allowing cross ventilation. However, for lectures and private function areas need to be shut of. Thus louvers and shutters were used in order to be open, closed and half way filtered light.
Facade system of operable windows and an external batten or panel system.

Rotation doors were fitted with battens to filter light, glass to provide weather protection and photo voltaic cells to harvest energy.
Annotation and material- Steel and timber.
