ADDITION OF SYSTEMS AND MEASUREMENTS TO BUILDING
Ventilation
Parking
Access
Initial measurements which were changed due to the size being too large.
Measurements were added to the floor plan in order to create a large amphitheater that could be used for the festival
Planning of the number of market stalls what would be provided for the interior area was conducted based on spatial arrangement of existing markets in Sydney, Byron Bay and Melbourne
ROOF
A unique roofing system was designed to achieve the initial goal of not off setting green space. A network of green roofs would be constructed to allow wheelchair access to some levels as well as seating or aesthetics to the building.
The roofing system was later rejected for the purpose of it being unpractical and an unsustainable venture.
Instead a more terraced garden roof form was chosen that sat into the hill side.
The building was designed with an open front as the already flat site adjacent to the development was used for festival purposes. The open front allows for better integration with the site and greater user access during peak times.
Exemplar frontage.
FURTHER ANALYSIS
Further analysis was conducted into how to get light into the depths of the building. Segments were cut and pulled away in order to create opening, hower with the movement of above stories it was found that the building became unpractical. A simpler design of a larger operable front opening solved all challenges.
ACCESS
Public and private transport was mapped as well as traffic flow through the building. Below the diagram is a sectional analysis of transport as access is directed over two levels to allow for agricultural service integration.
